Busy Busy!

Currently Rj is training for his EIB (Expert Infantryman Badge). He goes to ranges all the time and frequently has days that are 12+ hour long. Pretty sucky all around. He comes home dirty and tired on a daily basis. On Friday the 31st all the guys in the Rjs company went on a Recreation Day and played paintball, did skeet shooting, played basketball, and did some archery shooting. For lunch all the spouses brought a dish to pass and met at the range to spend the afternoon with all the guys(single included)...

To the point of the post...They had a "Daddy Dunk Tank" Guess who got to give it a spin? Thats right, RJ! Since technically he IS a father his Platoon Srgnt made him get in then even dunk him a few time since our child wasnt there to do it.

Us before the dunk tank after lunch

The climb

The pleading

"This isnt fair!"

And the dunk 1/2 way down

Didnt get a shot of him all the way in, sorry

This is post #100! Im going to try to give everyone a little update. If you dont already know, Rj came home on Jan 1st!

We went to a FRG meeting (Family Readiness Group) last night. It was required of all married soldiers to attend and spouces were invited. I will honestly admit that i didnt do much paying attention because they gave us a handout when we walked in with all the info on it and there was this adorable little redheaded 1yr old next to me who i played with most of the time. But this is the information i DID manage to hear..

  • They will be doing day training for the next 3 months

  • They have multiple 4day weekends comming up as to provide as much time with there family as possible..

  • In May-ish they will begin doing night training and weekend trips

  • We should get summer leave sometime in July-Aug.

  • Starting September they will have very little time off as they will begin training for the next deployment

  • WE DONT KNOW WHEN THE NEXT DEPLOYMENT WILL BE!

  • I vollenteered and became a POC (Point Of Contact) which i am really looking forward to!! A POC is a person who calls people on there list (given to them by the FRG leader) and makes sure everything is going well, see if they need anything, make sure all information is up-to-date, and shares information about deployments, R&R time, and welcome home ceremonies...While Rj was deployed my POC Sam called me multiple times, took me to dinner so we could chat, and told me which flight he was on when he was comming home.

Conversation between Rj and I

Me "WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR EXTRA BEDROOM!??? It was spotless!!"

Rj "The Army did it"

Let me just show you what exactly "the army" did to our extra bedroom!

Thats all for now but im sure over the next year we will update every few weeks/months with info on the training hes doing...
